Capture Capital OÜ has joined the European Legal Technology Association (ELTA) as a corporate member.
ELTA is an independent European community and think tank for legal technology and legal innovation, founded in 2016. Its members span law firms, technology providers, startups, academics, and in-house legal teams across Europe and beyond.
For us, it is a natural fit rather than a badge. Capture sits exactly where ELTA operates: Between regulated legal and corporate services on one side, and software on the other.
Regulated Work, Delivered As Software
Capture is a licensed Estonian corporate services firm. Most of what we do is regulated: registered addresses, licensed contact-person services, company formation, and the KYC that must be completed before any of it starts.
What has changed is how that work gets delivered. Signup is fully automated. Verification runs through a structured onboarding flow instead of an email thread. Most accounts are reviewed and activated the same day. None of that is off-the-shelf — we build and run it ourselves.
That is the part ELTA membership speaks to. Legal tech is not only tools for law firms. It is also the unglamorous infrastructure that makes regulated services fast, auditable, and consistent.
Compliance Is the Foundation, Not a Feature
Capture operates under an Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit license FIU000432. That license is what allows us to act as a contact person and provide registered address services, and it comes with real obligations: Identifying clients, understanding ownership structures, and keeping records that stand up to scrutiny.
We have written before about why this matters when choosing a licensed provider, and what KYC actually involves. The short version: Compliance is not the part of the product you bolt on at the end. Building the software around the regulatory requirements — rather than the other way round — is what keeps the service both fast and defensible.
Connected to Estonia’s Digital Infrastructure
Estonia’s public services run on X-Road, the data exchange layer that lets state registries and private companies talk to each other securely. We published a plain-English guide to X-Road (X-tee) earlier this month, because it is the single piece of infrastructure that best explains why running a company in Estonia works the way it does.
Capture is connecting to X-Road directly through its own security servers — moving from writing about the infrastructure to operating on it.
What Comes Next
Through ELTA, we want to do two things: Learn from teams solving similar problems in other European markets, and contribute what we have learned building regulated services in one of the most digitized jurisdictions in the EU. Estonia is often held up as a model — we would rather share the practical detail of what actually works than the brochure version.
