What You Actually Need After Getting Estonian e-Residency

Getting your Estonian e-Residency business address sorted is the first practical step after approval. E-Residency gives you the digital identity to start a company — here is what you need to actually register one.

Before your OÜ can be entered into the Estonian Business Register, a valid Estonian registered address must be in place. Without it, the registration cannot proceed. This is a legal requirement, not a formality.

Why a Registered Business Address Is Required

Every Estonian company must have a valid Estonian e-Residency business address on file in the Business Register. This is the address authorities use for official correspondence. It must be a real Estonian address — not a foreign one, not a P.O. box.

For e-residents operating from abroad, this means using a licensed business address service in Estonia.

What About a Contact Person

A contact person is legally required only when the company’s registered address is outside Estonia.

If your company uses a licensed Estonian business address — which all Capture clients do — the strict legal obligation does not apply.

That said, Standard and Premium plans include a licensed contact person regardless. The reason is practical: when Capture holds that role, we have direct access to your company in the e-Business Register. That means we can prepare and initiate registry filings on your behalf. When something needs updating — an amendment, a detail change, a new filing — we handle the preparation. You review, sign, and pay the applicable state fee. That is your involvement.

Without that role, every registry interaction starts and ends with you.

What Capture Provides

Capture is a licensed Estonian trust and company service provider operating under FIU license FIU000432. We provide the registered business address required to register and maintain your Estonian OÜ, with plans that include varying levels of support depending on what your company needs.

Basic — €120/year Registered Tallinn business address only. No contact person, no formation assistance, no support. For founders with an existing simple company who want to handle everything themselves.

Standard — €320/year Registered address plus licensed contact person, company formation assistance for new OÜ companies with up to two founders, registry amendment support, banking guidance, and email support. The right setup for most e-residents forming or managing a straightforward company from abroad.

Premium — €520/year For complex structures — holding companies, subsidiaries, MTÜ nonprofits, or companies with three or more shareholders or board members.

How It Works

Forming a new company Sign up and complete identity verification → fill in the company formation form → we prepare the full Business Register application including our appointment as contact person → you review, sign, pay the €265 state fee, and submit → we monitor until registration is confirmed.

Already have an Estonian company Sign up and complete identity verification → submit your company details → we prepare the contact person amendment → you sign and pay the €25 state fee → change is processed within 5 business days.

In both cases, service activates after our compliance review. This is a legal requirement and applies to all clients.

The Short Version

E-Residency approval is the starting point. To go from e-Residency to a registered, operating Estonian company, you need a licensed business address in Estonia.

Capture provides that, with plans starting at €120 per year for address only and €320 per year for the full setup most e-residents actually need.
